Just forty minutes by plane in the northwest of Laos, you can settle down for a few days in Luang Prabang. Wat Xieng Thong is Luang Prabang's most magnificent temple. However, many other temples are worth a visit. Pak Ou Caves are located 25 km away, easily reached by boat of with a local soonthaew taxi. When in the city, you will see people going about their daily activities. Religion is alive and well in Luang Prabang, and you will notice many monks walking around town, or working in their temples.
